Engineering 2019, Volume 5, Issue 2,   Pages 305-318 doi: 10.1016/j.eng.2018.11.032

Abstract:

An increasing number of drivers are relying on digital map navigation systems in vehicles or mobilemodel and lane-level route planning. The current limitation of the lane-level map model is not its accuracy but its flexibility; this studyproposes a novel seven-layer map structure, called as Tsinghua map model, which is able to support autonomousIn addition, we model the travel costs allocated for lane-level road networks by analyzing vehicle maneuvers

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 1,   Pages 131-140 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2200128

Abstract: Ensuring the safety of s is essential and challenging when are involved. Classical avoidance strategies cannot handle uncertainty, and learning-based methods lack performance guarantees. In this paper we propose a (HRL) approach for to safely interact with s behaving uncertainly. The method integrates the rule-based strategy and reinforcement learning strategy. The confidence of both strategies is evaluated using the data recorded in the training process. Then we design an activation function to select the final policy with higher confidence. In this way, we can guarantee that the final policy performance is not worse than that of the rule-based policy. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, we validate it in simulation using an accelerated testing technique to generate stochastic s. The results indicate that it increases the success rate for avoidance to 98.8%, compared with 94.4% of the baseline method.

Frontiers in Energy 2010, Volume 4, Issue 2,   Pages 280-286 doi: 10.1007/s11708-009-0062-5

Abstract: An adhesion map provides quantitative criteria for the appropriate selection of adhesion models applicableIt is found that the choice of general model has limited influence on the structure of a constructedadhesion map.On the contrary, the regime of application for each approximate model is sensitive to the approximationA three-dimensional, more intuitive adhesion map based on physical parameters of particles is also built

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2023, Volume 24, Issue 5,   Pages 633-636 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.2310000

Abstract: A storage system is the core of a computer, and plays an important role in the sustainable development of emerging strategic industries, such as artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing, and the Internet of Things. Storage stack access is a major factor restricting the performance of data-intensive systems because of the increasing performance of processors and network devices. Recently, new storage devices have attracted wide attention due to their ability to break the “memory wall.” These devices include block-addressable flash memory, byte-addressable non-volatile random access memory (NVRAM), in-memory computing devices, and large-capacity optical storage. Continuous innovation in algorithms, software designs, and hardware is necessary to build large-scale storage systems with high throughput, low access latency, and high data reliability. It can address challenges in building larger-scale and higher-performance systems with more complex structures. Further, it can boost the experience in building and applying relevant systems and accelerate developing the big data processing.

Abstract: Emergence of new hardware, including and , has brought new opportunities to design. In this paper, we design and implement a new named NICFS based on and SmartNIC. We divide the into two parts: the front end and the back end. In the front end, data writes are appended to the in a log-structured way, leveraging the fast persistence advantage of . In the back end, the data in logs are fetched, processed, and patched to files in the background, leveraging the processing capacity of SmartNIC. Evaluation results show that NICFS outperforms Ext4 by about 21%/10% and about 19%/50% on large and small reads/writes, respectively.

Grazing incidence polarized light imaging of footwear prints Regular Article

Xin-yi Bi, Rui-fang Han, Ran Liao, Wu-sheng Feng, Da Li, Xue-jie Zhang, Hui Ma,liao.ran@sz.tsinghua.edu.cn

Frontiers of Information Technology & Electronic Engineering 2019, Volume 20, Issue 11,   Pages 1543-1550 doi: 10.1631/FITEE.1800383

Abstract: Footwear prints are important evidence in criminal investigation. They represent changes in the surface morphology due to disturbance to fine distributions. Existing non-contact optical detection methods usually measure the light intensity contrasts between the footwear prints and the ground, which can be enhanced by grazing incident illumination. We take images of footwear prints on different types of floors using a commercial single lens reflex color camera. Results show that adding linear polarizers in front of the camera lens and light source improves the contrast of footwear print images. The best contrasts are achieved in degree of linear . In addition, the three-color channels of the camera can be used to examine the spectral features of the images. According to the experimental results, the best contrast is obtained at the blue channel. The current work shows that grazing incidence polarized light imaging can effectively enhance the contrast of the footwear prints against the floors, which would help obtain footwear evidence in criminal investigation.
